This project consists of various underground utility improvements to BART’s Richmond Yard including; domestic and fire water, sanitary sewer, industrial waste, and electrical monitoring. The project consists of a temporary fire protection system, splitting the current singular water system into separate domestic and fire water systems, fire hydrants, fire department connections, post indicator valves with monitoring, air release valves, protective bollards, fusible PVC slip-line under active yard tracks, lightweight fill pipeline abandonment, and associated surface restoration. This project requires extensive coordination with BART personnel to minimize impacts to this critical maintenance facility.
