Richard Zito, PE
As President, Rich oversees day-to-day operations, including business development and management, as well as overall safety, quality, risk, and personnel. He is driven by the success and growth of every team member, challenging them to exceed the limits of their experience through his trust, encouragement, and clear vision.
Rich started his career in as an officer in the U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps, leading projects throughout the world for Navy shore facilities and Marine Corps expeditionary forces. Over the last 25 years in the heavy civil industry, Rich has served in a variety of roles including estimator, superintendent, project manager, and vice president. He has managed both heavy civil and building systems construction for major transportation projects — airport, rail, roadway and bridge — as well as marine and water resource projects for federal, state and local governments. As Vice President of Business Development for a large heavy civil firm, Rich drove and sustained the firm’s growth into new markets, delivery methods, and annual revenues exceeding $100 million.
Rich is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and former SF Bay District Director of the Associated General Contractors of CA. He is fluent in Mandarin and has lived in the Bay Area for nearly three decades.
As one of our two Vice Presidents, Aravind is focused on estimating, project management, safety, quality, and project staffing, primarily for rail and electrical work. He sets the bar high for diligence and initiative, pushing each team member to creatively resolve issues and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the client’s satisfaction.
Aravind has nearly two decades of heavy construction management experience on projects both in India and throughout the Bay Area for BART, Caltrain, MUNI, and VTA. As project sponsor, project manager, project superintendent, and concrete superintendent, he has managed work for design-build, mass transit and rail facilities, water treatment plants, and the seismic retrofit of major bridges. Experienced in heavy civil estimating and construction, Aravind’s distinct expertise has been railroad track work and signaling — in fact, he spearheaded the development of and served as the qualified license holder for a subsidiary company at a large heavy civil firm that was focused solely on transit projects.
As one of our two Vice Presidents, Todd is focused on estimating, project management, safety, quality, and project staffing, primarily for heavy civil and structures work. He uses his relational knack to mentor and motivate our team according to their individual goals and finds every opportunity to diffuse personnel and project complexities with honesty, camaraderie, and heavy civil expertise.
Todd has over 33 years of experience in the construction industry including heavy- civil, transportation, mass transit and rail (a new BART extension at Warm Springs), water resources, bridges (seismic retrofit of the Golden Gate Bridge) and structural steel projects. Having owned and run his own construction company, Todd has also managed construction as an area sponsor, project sponsor, project manager, construction manager, project superintendent, field engineer, and carpenter. Todd’s strong commitment to improve systems and personnel led him to chair the Cost and Production Committee for a large heavy civil company and oversee the firm’s mentoring program, which paired younger employees with more seasoned personnel to bolster their growth, success, and personal ambition.
