Project Description
This project provided a new emergency standby generator and distribution panels for the Santa Clara Valley Water District’s administration building in San Jose. Work consisted of removing and disposing an existing 145 KW generator and switchgear, and temporarily relocating a 65 KW generator. DMZ constructed foundations, structures and slabs for the new generator, fuel tank and switchgear, furnished and installed the new 375kW generator with load bank, new distribution switchgear, transfer switch, control equipment, panel boards, conduit and grounding. In order to maintain required 24/7 operations of the District facility, DMZ mobilized a 400kW generator to supply temporary power to the building during the transfer of operations to the new electrical equipment.
