This project provided core infrastructure upgrades, systems and interface to support electric bus chargers at VTA’s operating transit bus yard in San Jose. DMZ’s scope of work included adding two 1200A feeder breakers inside the existing 480V 4-wire distribution switchboard; installing approximately 750 feet of above-ground and underground conduits for 480V feeders from the new feeder breakers to 2 new switchboards; furnishing and installing new disconnect switches and switchgear; and installing concrete mounting pads for switchgear and charging stations. Close coordination with VTA was required to to ensure continuing operations of the transit bus yard and shop.
